LILA + CHRIS - Fairhavens Wedding

Remember this shot from Chris & Lila's engagement session? It was such a beauty that we had to do it again at their wedding:

Lila & Chris's wedding day was a breath of fresh air: perfectly low key (as one friend put it) and all about community. It was a true collaboration of many talented friends that made their day so special. Some highlights: their flowers were sourced locally and arranged by family and friends; they had a friend make their (tasty) wedding cake(s!); friends of the couple played beautiful music during the ceremony and cocktail hour... and on, and on...

I have become fond of this pair since meeting them only a few months ago, and I thought very highly of this wedding. For those of you who know me well, I'm a pretty emotional person to start... but this ceremony just really touched me. So eloquent, so peaceful, so beautiful: a gathering to witness two hearts "officially" join as one. I was wiping away tears from behind my camera. And the toasts! My goodness the toasts! So touching. I am truly honored to have been a part of Lila & Chris's special day with their closest friends and family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and congratulations!

(The couple had rosemary -- a symbol of love & loyalty - thrown at them as they recessed back down the aisle.)

Lila + Chris opted to do a first look to give them some private time together just before the ceremony began.

There were so many BEAUTIFUL children at this wedding. Here's Lila's niece, Nolla Mae, running and waving down the aisle during her flower girl duties. So adorable!

From how much I know about them, I thought this picture reflected them well... community + their relationship + nature ... all bonding together. : )

They served homebrews!

Lila was obsessed with Pez when she was younger, so her friend found these vintage Pez despensers to put on the cakes. Amazing!
