I loved capturing the Wills family in downtown Alexandria, Virginia. We started out in Founders Park and then hit a couple of charming spots in Old Town. Isabelle, who was only 5 1/2 months old during this session, KILLED it. She is one of the "easiest" babies that I've ever photographed; I had the hardest time choosing favorites for a post because she has so much personality! It's evident how much Kathy and Jon love their precious little lady. Please enjoy my time with this beautiful family!
I got to meet and photograph this scrumptious little sweetheart at eight days old. Margot (LOVE her name!) was born early -- just THREE days after I took her parent's maternity photos! Crazy timing, I'm telling ya. She was perfectly sleepy during the session -- a dream to photograph. I am so incredibly happy for her awesome parents! Enjoy some of my favorites of this precious little lady. : )
I am in LOVE with her little nose. And I have to give major props to Matt, Margot's dad, for helping me hold the blanket during these solo shots. Sometimes the space in city apartments can be tricky but with willing parents...!

Margot's grandmother (Kat's mom) was in town helping them out after her birth, so we grabbed some shots!
Matt's mom sent these sweaters all the way from Ireland. It'll take a bit for Margot to grow into her's, but I loved that they wanted to get some shots in them!
We couldn't resist using the top photo in our holiday card this year. Brooklyn looks like she's punching herself and she's making the MOST hysterical face. I had plans of writing "We hope you have a "knockout" of a New Year!" but Shutterfly's design wouldn't let me edit the text and in my 11 p.m. haze of ordering the card, it was all I could do to get photos together to fill the spaces. : ) And plus, taking a decent photo with three furry children and a squirmy, wanna-be-active-all-the-time six-month-old is nearly impossible. I think my dad found a new appreciation for my job that day when he took our family photo. ; )
Whatever and however you celebrate, the Tuck family wishes you the brightest, happiest holiday season. I'm going to be away from my computer until after the new year. When I return, I plan to blog my last remaining wedding from 2014 (looking at you Mer & Ryan!), my annual Year in Review (yay weddings and families and babies!) and a couple of posts about Brooklyn (since I've YET to do hardly any!). This session was really special to me. I met Nicole when I was working at the Star-News (and subsequently her husband Mike), and we became fast friends. The hubs and I would hang with them regularly when we lived in North Carolina, and then we moved to New York and didn't get to see them as much. Fast forward seven years and we're still great friends. : ) When I was still pregnant with Brooklyn, Nicole (along with my friend Mary) threw me the most awesome baby shower at Gather. Even when a long period of time goes by without catching up, we fall right back into place with the Huggies (as my husband calls them!). So thankful for their friendship and SO happy for their new addition Emmett Aubrey. I got to photograph this little sleep dictator (his mama calls him that!) at three weeks old. He has the most amazing neck strength! And the cutest little baby lips ever. Enjoy my time with this lovely family. : )

I'm pretty lucky that my camera connects me with such sweet people. I LOVE my time with this crew... Every. single. time. I photographed Meagan & Oscar's wedding day back in 2012 and Mary Grace's newborn photos when she was just 15 days old. How is she already almost one?! Mary Grace was pure delight during the shoot; the wide spectrum of faces she gives are hysterical and kept me giggling the whole time. And her parents got her a smash cake for the shoot! It was my first time (officially) photographing a baby's first encounter with cake, and I really enjoyed capturing all of her expressions! Scroll down for goodness from the shoot. : )
