KRISTEN + BOBBY - Capitol Hill Club Wedding

Kristen & Bobby's wedding was the second one of my double header weekend in DC in August. Their wedding day was ALSO nothing short of fabulous. Look at the cute parasol Kristen brought along for portraits!

These two got married at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Capitol Hill, and the reception was held at the Capitol Hill Club. I don't normally share "personal" info. like this on my blog, but their story is too cool not to share: they were both born in the same hospital in Illinois, attended the same church as toddlers and interned in DC as college juniors. However, they didn't actually meet until after college, when they'd both moved to DC and found jobs on Capitol Hill. So, you can imagine how special of a place this is for these two.

Seeing as how their wedding took place at the Capitol Hill Club (aka the National Republican Club), I really liked how Kristen used the elephant as part of a design element in the wedding (place cards, cupcakes). I also loved the flowers and toasts. Oh my goodness, the toasts were so heart warming.

The wedding day was beautiful and Kristen and Bobby planned everything so perfectly. Thank y'all for being such amazing hosts in DC! Enjoy my favorites from their day... : )

*And a huge shout out to Paige Wagner for helping me shoot that day. Thanks, lady!

Kristen's aunts dropped by to lend her some items for the wedding day: diamond earrings and a lace-embroidered handkerchief that was used by her great-grandmother at her wedding 99 years ago. How awesome!

Beautiful, Kristen.

LOVE this dad-daughter moment.

MARRIED!

Studs.

Adore this shot.

So happy!

Sweet!

I loved the dad-daughter dance that turned into a family affair!

KRISTEN BRIDAL: UNVEILED!

You may remember Kristen from her engagement session with Trey last winter. Although I wasn't available to shoot their wedding, I was privileged to shoot Kristen's bridal portraits in August. Seemingly, the world was against us that day (including the weather), but we ended up getting some gorgeous light, and I'm thrilled with the outcome. Kristen and Trey got married last weekend (congrats!), so here are some of my faves...

FEATURED: Beloved

Trey + Kristen were featured on Beloved this morning... SO happy about this! Beloved is a website that is dedicated to discovering and re-discovering love. : ) The Beloved Movement was inspired by the experiential portrait work of the incredibly talented photographer Jesh de Rox and is carried on by photographers around the world. So honored...

KRISTEN + TREY ENGAGED!

Kristen & Trey are so cute together. I've known them since high school, so I was excited to meet up with them in North Carolina for an e-shoot over the holidays. They wanted a natural setting, so we ventured out to Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville. It's a great space -- lots of land & old log cabins. Kristen & Trey brought along their quite charming pup, Jack, who is an eight-month-old mastiff/shar pei/husky mix (since he's a rescue, they aren't 100% sure). We lucked out with the weather in that it wasn't bitterly cold, but they were great at snuggling to keep warm anyway. : ) Congrats, you two! Many blessings! Enjoy this sweet couple...

I couldn't resist posting a picture of this cute lil pig. He just came right up to us during our shoot!

This horse was very interested in what we were doing...

... so much so, that he gave Trey a little nudge while he was cozying up to Kristen! : )
