Our Babymoon + Maternity Photos by Kate Lord

When I told people we were going on a babymoon, they kinda just gave me weird looks. : ) Ryan and I thought it would be fun to take a trip to New York City before baby girl's arrival in May. We chose NYC because it's where we shared our first place and fell (more) in love. Not to mention, it's got a plethora of fun things to do! We packed lots of exciting things into our four-day adventure. We saw The Book of Mormon (highly recommend!), took our first pottery class on Valentine's Day (thanks, hubs!), visited some of our favorite shops (Strand Bookstore, purl soho, Dinosaur Hill), ate extremely well (John's of Bleecker Street, Magnolia Bakery, Dig Inn, Sarabeth's, V-Note, Crumbs Bake Shop) and stopped by our favorite museum, the MoMA. We also got to visit with some family and friends, which is always nice!

While we were there, we wanted to have some photos taken of our growing family, so I contacted my dear friend Kate Lord about doing some maternity photos of us in Central Park. We chose the park because it's where Ryan proposed to me five years ago. With some tricky walking involved (SO MUCH SNOW AND ICE!), we even visited the exact spot where he got down on one knee. : ) In these photos, I'm one day shy of 29 weeks. Kate did a fabulous job, like I knew she would. We couldn't be happier with the photos. Below are a few of my favorites (couldn't choose just one!). You can see more on her blog HERE -- go there to leave some love for her talent!

We bought this tiny elephant for baby girl at FAO Schwarz right before meeting Kate for the session, so we decided to include it. We bought it for her nursery because it's the ancient symbol of strength, protection and good luck. : )

I had to get a snap with my friend! Love and appreciate you, Kate!
