Heyyyy there everyone. : ) Things have been pretty quiet on the blog this year due to our growing family (and therefore my limited bookings!), but I am very excited to share a wedding with y'all today that I shot last June. Clare and Andrew got married at St. Francis of Assisi, and the reception was held in downtown Raleigh at The Stockroom at 230.

I have known Clare since college (more on our friendship HERE), and I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her and Andrew's wedding. Everyone who spoke at their reception talked about how Clare and Andrew always strive to help people be the best versions of themselves, and I couldn't agree more. They are two of the kindest, most generous and thoughtful people that I know, and I'm lucky that they chose me to document such an important day in their lives.

My favorite parts of their wedding day were the moments of anticipation leading up to the first look, the heartfelt toasts given by their family, the band (you guys...I couldn't stop dancing to Whiskey Rebellion...so good!) and the food (Andrew specifically designed the menu and boy did it rock my taste buds!). Oh, and just simply being surrounded by some insanely nice folks all day was a real treat.

Amanda + Rob // Frederick, MD Wedding Photographer

Get ready for this stunning wedding! You may remember Amanda & Rob's downtown Frederick engagement session. I loved getting to know them then, and it made me super excited for their wedding day. Their love is effortless and beautiful. Plus, I discovered that they are comfortable (and amazing!) with each other in front of a camera, which also made me super stoked for their big day.

When I met with them last summer to hear about their wedding, it totally felt like we were old friends. Amanda and Rob are both warm and charismatic people, and they really placed their trust in me to document their wedding in an artful way. My favorite parts of the day were the couple's first look (so many tears!), the portraits in the stunning vineyard, the gorgeous views at the ceremony, and the couple's first dance to "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz (so many more tears!).

Kristen + Dan // Washington, DC Wedding Photographer

Kristen and Dan share a huge love for D.C. and, specifically, Georgetown University. They both went to school at GU, but to their surprise, they never met during their college years (samesies for my hubs and me at UNC; isn't the world a funny place?). Their relationship bloomed in D.C., so it was only fitting that their special day reflect the place where they met and fell in love.

The couple was married in late June at Dahlgren Chapel on Georgetown University's campus, and their reception was held at Sequoia Restaurant, which sits on the Washington Harbour and has incredible views of the Potomac.

Kristen + Dan were such a joy with which to "work." I always say this sarcastically because I truly believe I get dealt the most AWESOMELY sweet and thoughtful clients, to which these guys are no exception. I loved so much about their classic wedding. From the floral details to the stunning reception spot, it was such a pleasure to photograph their wedding day. Enjoy the highlights, y'all!

A special shout to Jennifer Smutek Photography - thanks for helping me shoot! : )

Mary + Seth // Northern, VA Wedding Photographer

I don't even know where to begin... This day was incredible and this couple is incredible. I met Mary in college at UNC, and even though we haven't kept in touch all that much over the years, she's the type of person who is so sincere that it makes it really easy to pick back up the relationship and remember so easily why you were friends in the first place. I met Seth the day of their wedding and he is Mary's perfect match. He gave me a hug like we were old friends and was so genuine and kind the whole day.

Laid-back sophistication is how I describe the style of Mary + Seth's wedding. And I LOVED it. So chill yet so glamorous. Most of the vendors were friends of the couple, which made it that much more special for them. Seth and Mary have the kindest hearts imaginable and their wedding day was a true reflection and celebration of the love they share for each other and family & friends. One of my favorite things was how they had saved all of their love notes/mementos to each other from during their dating years and displayed them for guests to read.

I loved every minute of this day! Enjoy the photos... : )
