Rachel & Mark were such cuddle bugs during their shoot! I love it when people aren't hesitant to get close with one another in front of my camera; it's SO sweet. I met up with this adorable duo for their engagement photos in Athens. It was a gorgeous spring day, and the light was spot on! Enjoy some of my favorites. : )

Love this.

They are so stylish!

I know Rachel's eyes are closed in the next one, but I LOVE her expression.

Helloooo! STUNNING.

ALBUMS: Cypress Fine Handmade Albums

It's an early birthday over here for Melissa Tuck Photography -- the new album sample has arrived! I am so ecstatic to finally share with you my newest offering from Cypress Albums. Before I get to the goods, a little thoughts from me: I think getting a wedding album is SO important. I know digital negatives are all the rage these days (and yes, they're important too!), but by purchasing an album, you have a way of displaying your wedding photos. I can honestly say that I haven't looked at our DVD of photos more than once since our wedding (and that doesn't take away what a fabulous job The Schultzes did!), but my point is this: We purchased two canvas prints from our wedding, which are currently hanging on our living room wall, and we look at those EVERY SINGLE DAY and are reminded of how wonderful our day was. An album is yet another elegant way to show off the magic of your special day. Off my soapbox and onto these GORGEOUS albums! : )

I chose a neutral platinum for the album cover and a gray presentation box with ivory ribbon. I also added a cover photo.

Gold imprinting (silver and clear also available):

Library bound style binding.

An elegant European-style presentation box is available to protect and display your album.

The photo prints are permanently matted onto the page. I use high quality Kodak Professional Lustre paper with a lustre coating, which is an environmentally safe, water based coating that provides additional protection to your prints and adds a slightly more matte appearance for a fine art look.

The 10x10" album is custom-designed and layout-oriented. The photo prints are flush-mounted to heavy-weight six-ply (non-bendable) pages. Each album can hold up to 25 pages (50 sides).

The gorgeous fabrics are Japanese bookbinding fabric and silk ribbon. There are multiple colors from which to choose.

Past couples, if you're interested in purchasing one of these beauties, shoot me a note: mel [at] melissatuckphoto [dot] com. Future couples, you can also get it on the fun. I'm offering a 10% discount on Cypress Albums at the time of signing a contract. : )

Photobooth = FUN!

I can now speak from personal experience when I say that some of our favorite photos from our wedding came from the photobooth. It's an ideal setup: you get memorable, laugh-out-loud photos while allowing your wedding photographer more creative freedom during the reception to capture all those details you spent so much time planning. It's a win-win situation AND it is super fun for the guests! Over the weekend, I asked the hubby to model for my new photobooth setup. We came out with some giggle-worthy photos... and included the pups, of course. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to my mom for buying the hats you see below for me. I'm sure they'll come in handy for some kiddo shoots in the future. : )

Couples, if you're interested in adding a photobooth to your wedding package, shoot me a note! It doesn't disappoint.

Bella HATED the hats, but she was a good sport. Ha!

Self timer yeeaaah!

I'm so excited to announce that Melissa Tuck Photography has an updated look! I've been neglecting this post for awhile -- trying to catch up on all of my endless edits and emails -- so my blog readers have most likely already noticed my new logo and background on the blog. NOW it's finally time to give my new branding the spotlight it deserves! I couldn't have asked for a better designer - Rachel Link of linkedesign. This talented graphic designer/artist/creative genius (she wears many hats) made my vision come to life effortlessly, and I'm so happy to also call her a friend! Thank you, Rachel, for all your hard and AMAZING work. If your brand needs a facelift, I highly recommend her! She also created some amazing stuff for my wedding last summer too. : )

Without further ado... here's the collateral! (Not pictured that Rachel also created: digital pricing guide, contract design and shipping labels.)

I told Rachel that I wanted my new logo to look organic and whimsical. She took my inspiration and hand drew this gorgeous flower illustration and then vectored it into the computer so it could be used digitally across all of my collateral. SO magical (yet structured and readable). EXACTLY what I wanted.

TA DA! I now offer gift certificates! For all types of things: photo sessions, prints, canvases, books, albums, the list goes on... It would be a great holiday gift - contact me if you'd like to learn more!

Next up: letterpress business cards. This is probably my MOST favorite tangible product that was created. I commissioned the oh-so-talented Nicole Lissenden of Mink Letterpress (highly recommend her as well!) to print some snazzy business cards for me. We took Rachel's design and Nicole paired the antique pink color from the front and matched it to the back to add another dimension. I think they came out fabulously! I looove me some letterpress. So divine.

Letterpress can be a tad pricey, so I also wanted the option of a more economical day-to-day business card. Rachel created an identical layout for me and added burlap to the back. I printed them on 100% recycled stock at

I also have a new DVD case design! Clean, professional...

... and the disc inside is customized for each couple!

And lastly, new stationery. Ever since I can remember learning how to write, I always LOVED to send handwritten notes to people. In the age of digital EVERYTHING, I just think it's more special to send a handwritten note card and now I have beautiful stationery of my own!

Thanks again so much to linkedesign and Mink Letterpress for doing such an incredible job!
