Mary + Seth // Northern, VA Wedding Photographer

I don't even know where to begin... This day was incredible and this couple is incredible. I met Mary in college at UNC, and even though we haven't kept in touch all that much over the years, she's the type of person who is so sincere that it makes it really easy to pick back up the relationship and remember so easily why you were friends in the first place. I met Seth the day of their wedding and he is Mary's perfect match. He gave me a hug like we were old friends and was so genuine and kind the whole day.

Bride’s dress: Aria
Bride’s shoes: Loeffler Randall
Bridesmaids’ dresses: individually chosen

Laid-back sophistication is how I describe the style of Mary + Seth's wedding. And I LOVED it. So chill yet so glamorous. Most of the vendors were friends of the couple, which made it that much more special for them. Seth and Mary have the kindest hearts imaginable and their wedding day was a true reflection and celebration of the love they share for each other and family & friends. One of my favorite things was how they had saved all of their love notes/mementos to each other from during their dating years and displayed them for guests to read.

I loved every minute of this day! Enjoy the photos... : )

Sarah + Michael: Ronald Reagan Building // Washington, DC Wedding Photographer

I'm SO excited to share this wedding with all of you. Sarah and Michael got married in May at the Ronald Reagan Building in DC. This photo was taken right after they said "I Do" and their adorable pup, Cady, came for a few portraits. You may remember Sarah and Michael from their Capitol Hill engagement session last fall . Sarah is one of my oldest friends and today happens to be a big milestone birthday for her (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!), so I thought it was fitting to share her wedding today.   I can't say enough good things about these two amazing people. I kind of spilled my heart out about them already in their engagement session post , so I'll talk more about their wedding now. It was AWESOME. There were so many special moments, but my favorites were their first look and the choreographed first dances at the reception ( Katy Perry's left shark made an appearance!). All the details were stunning: Sarah's dress, the florals, the wedding party ... everything was flawless. I can say a lot more about how wonderful it was and how wonderfully emotional this wedding left me, but I'll move on to the photos. : ) Bride's dress: Justin Alexander Bride's shoes: Badgley Mischka Bridesmaids dresses: J.Crew Groom & groomsmen attire: M. Stein & Co. Makeup & hair: Alison Taylor Florals: Amaryllis, Inc. Ceremony music: Sage String Quartet Cake: Cupcake Novelties Band: Nightsong Caterer: Ronald Reagan Building Programs: Minted.com And I have to give special thanks to Lindsey Farrell of Kelley Cannon Events , who made everything run SO seamlessly, and my second shooter, Jennifer Smutek , who killed it as well.

While I was in Australia, I got an exciting email letting me know that Kristin & Reed's gorgeous wedding was featured on Glamour & Grace. Check out the full feature HERE to read more about Kristin & Reed's day. What an honor! Megan, thank you SO much for featuring this wedding and for your lovely blog!

AUSTRALIA

Today, Ryan and I leave for Australia for 10 days to photograph the wedding of this lovely couple in Tasmania:

So stoked to see some familiar faces! I thought it was fitting to put up a little collage from my time studying abroad in college in New South Wales. Blue Mountains, Sydney Opera House, Byron Bay.. Some of these are from New Zealand as well.

If I'm slow to respond to emails/voicemails/texts, thanks in advance for your patience. It's quite a time difference. ; )
