NEWS

HE DID IT!

I'm busting with pride this afternoon, because the hubs found out that he passed the Bar! I had no doubt in my mind, but it's finally nice to officially hear such great news. ; ) To my other half... Ryan, throughout this rough year for both of us, you have held it together. You have been my strength in many a weak moment. As I write this with tears in my eyes, I am confident that we can do ANYTHING together. You're the best! I'm so, SO happy! You deserve an official shout out, so here goes:

Ryan Charles Tuck, Esq.

Here are a few photos from Ryan's graduation from UGA law school last May...

LOVE MONTH + ALBUM SALE

I LOVE celebrating love… whether it be the love between partners, the affection for your animal, the love you have for family/friends… you name it, I'm addicted to love.  : )

In honor of Valentine's Day month this year, I'm offering a 10% discount on my Cypress fabric albums for the ENTIRE month of February. That's right -- you can order any time between now and the 28th!

Couples, if you couldn't find room in your budget while planning your wedding, NOW is the time to do it! In my opinion, there's really no comparison to be made between a digital image and a printed photograph. Albums are my favorite way to view a collection of images, and I LOVE designing them!

Drop me a line at mel [at] melissatuckphoto [dot] com for details and a full price list. : )

LIKE POLAROIDS? (MY FIRST GIVEAWAY!)

Hey y'all, who wants to win a Polaroid camera (and a pack of instant film to get you going)?! I'm having my first giveaway, and there's only a few things you must do (but you have to do all three!) to enter the chance to win.

1) Go to my Facebook page and "like" it. (If you've already done this, I really appreciate your support and you will still be eligible for the giveaway - just complete the next two steps.) : )

AND

2) Donate $5 (more if you are so compelled!) to my brother-in-law's film fundraising*. Go to his Indiegogo site - The Last Round - and click the "contribute now" button. PLEASE make your contribution visible so I know you've met your end of the bargain in my giveaway!

*Short backstory: My bro-in-law was among a handful of NYU film school seniors to have his script chosen to be produced for the annual short film festival, and he needs help raising funds to shoot & produce it. The hubs and I are so proud of him and want to help his film become a success in every way that we can!

AND

3) Leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite movie (this will help me randomly decide the winner and give me a good list of movies to put in the rental queue).

That's it! The giveaway will close at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 4th. I will randomly select the winner on Thursday, April 5th and will post an announcement soon thereafter on the blog. READY, SET, GO! I always have so much fun with Polaroids - I'll leave you with some faves below. : )

A NEW LOOK!

I'm so excited to announce that Melissa Tuck Photography has an updated look! I've been neglecting this post for awhile -- trying to catch up on all of my endless edits and emails -- so my blog readers have most likely already noticed my new logo and background on the blog. NOW it's finally time to give my new branding the spotlight it deserves! I couldn't have asked for a better designer - Rachel Link of linkedesign. This talented graphic designer/artist/creative genius (she wears many hats) made my vision come to life effortlessly, and I'm so happy to also call her a friend! Thank you, Rachel, for all your hard and AMAZING work. If your brand needs a facelift, I highly recommend her! She also created some amazing stuff for my wedding last summer too. : )

Without further ado... here's the collateral! (Not pictured that Rachel also created: digital pricing guide, contract design and shipping labels.)

I told Rachel that I wanted my new logo to look organic and whimsical. She took my inspiration and hand drew this gorgeous flower illustration and then vectored it into the computer so it could be used digitally across all of my collateral. SO magical (yet structured and readable). EXACTLY what I wanted.

TA DA! I now offer gift certificates! For all types of things: photo sessions, prints, canvases, books, albums, the list goes on... It would be a great holiday gift - contact me if you'd like to learn more!

Next up: letterpress business cards. This is probably my MOST favorite tangible product that was created. I commissioned the oh-so-talented Nicole Lissenden of Mink Letterpress (highly recommend her as well!) to print some snazzy business cards for me. We took Rachel's design and Nicole paired the antique pink color from the front and matched it to the back to add another dimension. I think they came out fabulously! I looove me some letterpress. So divine.

Letterpress can be a tad pricey, so I also wanted the option of a more economical day-to-day business card. Rachel created an identical layout for me and added burlap to the back. I printed them on 100% recycled stock at MOO.com.

I also have a new DVD case design! Clean, professional...

... and the disc inside is customized for each couple!

And lastly, new stationery. Ever since I can remember learning how to write, I always LOVED to send handwritten notes to people. In the age of digital EVERYTHING, I just think it's more special to send a handwritten note card and now I have beautiful stationery of my own!

Thanks again so much to linkedesign and Mink Letterpress for doing such an incredible job!
