A NEW LOOK!

I'm so excited to announce that Melissa Tuck Photography has an updated look! I've been neglecting this post for awhile -- trying to catch up on all of my endless edits and emails -- so my blog readers have most likely already noticed my new logo and background on the blog. NOW it's finally time to give my new branding the spotlight it deserves! I couldn't have asked for a better designer - Rachel Link of linkedesign. This talented graphic designer/artist/creative genius (she wears many hats) made my vision come to life effortlessly, and I'm so happy to also call her a friend! Thank you, Rachel, for all your hard and AMAZING work. If your brand needs a facelift, I highly recommend her! She also created some amazing stuff for my wedding last summer too. : )

Without further ado... here's the collateral! (Not pictured that Rachel also created: digital pricing guide, contract design and shipping labels.)

I told Rachel that I wanted my new logo to look organic and whimsical. She took my inspiration and hand drew this gorgeous flower illustration and then vectored it into the computer so it could be used digitally across all of my collateral. SO magical (yet structured and readable). EXACTLY what I wanted.

TA DA! I now offer gift certificates! For all types of things: photo sessions, prints, canvases, books, albums, the list goes on... It would be a great holiday gift - contact me if you'd like to learn more!

Next up: letterpress business cards. This is probably my MOST favorite tangible product that was created. I commissioned the oh-so-talented Nicole Lissenden of Mink Letterpress (highly recommend her as well!) to print some snazzy business cards for me. We took Rachel's design and Nicole paired the antique pink color from the front and matched it to the back to add another dimension. I think they came out fabulously! I looove me some letterpress. So divine.

Letterpress can be a tad pricey, so I also wanted the option of a more economical day-to-day business card. Rachel created an identical layout for me and added burlap to the back. I printed them on 100% recycled stock at MOO.com.

I also have a new DVD case design! Clean, professional...

... and the disc inside is customized for each couple!

And lastly, new stationery. Ever since I can remember learning how to write, I always LOVED to send handwritten notes to people. In the age of digital EVERYTHING, I just think it's more special to send a handwritten note card and now I have beautiful stationery of my own!

Thanks again so much to linkedesign and Mink Letterpress for doing such an incredible job!

Best of 2010: Slideshow

What an amazing year! How did it sneak by so quickly? I've gotten the opportunity to photograph so many beautiful people -- inside and out -- this year. My clients are why I love my job, and I am so thankful to have witnessed so many special moments with them. I wanted to produce a little tribute, so here's an assortment of my favorite photos from every bridal, engagement & wedding that I shot in 2010.

Audio is a mashup by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros & Florence and the Machine. Best wishes to all and Happy New Year! : )

PHOTO BOOKS!

Now that wedding season has calmed down a bit, I made it a priority this week to get examples of all my current product offerings on the blog, and I've just about done it! I recently posted about my albums, so now it's on to photo books! First up is the 7x7" hard-cover book. It is available in a white or black cover with 25 of your favorite images inside. You can also choose the cover photo. I think it works great as a display on your coffee table, but it's also lightweight enough to carry with you. The photos are printed one per page on silk-finished, matte pages.

And I also have 4x4" little KISS books, which come in a variety of colors (not shown: brown & pink). The books come in sets of two (identical photos/cover) with 20 photos each. For the cover, you have the option of leather or linen (I prefer the leather as it's a bit more flexible), and the pages are non-bendable, hard-backed. I love these as gifts because they're affordable and pocket-sized... GREAT for carrying around in bags/purses to show a snapshot of the wedding! And they come with such a cute fabric cover! I'm in love.

Past couples - shoot me an email if you'd like to order any of these. Future couples - get excited! Happy weekending. : )

ALBUMS: Sequoia by WillowBook

I started out doing one project tonight and due to technical complications (thanks friends for your help!), I ended up shifting gears and finishing another... I recently shipped some beautiful albums to couples, but first, I snapped some frames to show them off. ; ) While I am working on adding new products to my line (updated list available: spring 2011!), I am still going to be offering these classic, durable 10x10" leather albums. As you can see, they are flush mount, layout-oriented albums with thick, non-bendable pages that lay flat at a virtually seamless center. The printing is super high quality and will last a lifetime. You pick your favorite photos, and then I lay them out for you! Simple as that.

First up is Caroline + Cameron's navy blue album with embossed silver imprinting:

You can add a cover image (for an additional cost):
