Are you kidding me with this family? Our friends (who also happen to be neighbors) had a baby last summer, so I basically invited myself over to their house for a photo session. I LOVE how their house is decorated, but I love hanging out with them even more. With how amazing their kids' imaginations are, I was eager to capture their family in a lifestyle format. You know, go about your morning, let's not be SO posy-posy. I couldn't be more thrilled with the results!
I want to do more of these sessions because I truly feel it captures more of the essence of your family, especially while your children are young. What shows up in the photos? Well, in this particular session, how attentive big sis is to little sis... She held her hand while mama was dressing her; she brought a blanket for her toes when we went outside. What else? Things your kids carry around or come to show me (dinosaur drawings and stretchy toys -- things you are bound to forget!) Also, this family is very musical, so dad played the piano and the kids joined in on the maracas and a little keyboard. All of it made for fantastic glimpses into their lives and just how creative and beautiful they all are!
So when you book your next session with me, ask about my lifestyle sessions. Absolutely YES, we will still get some posed photos... But, space and time can feel like a big ol' blur when your kids are young (helloooooo sleep deprivation!), so I advocate for a session that will preserve ALL the memories! Scroll for my faves. :)
