ICELAND - DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

No, I didn't shoot a wedding in Iceland. But yes, I WOULD LOVE TO SOMEDAY! Here's to keeping the dream alive...

Last March, Ryan surprised me with a trip to Iceland for my birthday (super belated as it is in October). He got us tickets to see Laufey in concert. (If you haven't listened to her, GO DO IT. Her voice is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. You won't regret it. Two of my current faves: Letter to my 13-Year-Old Self and Castle in Hollywood.) It was a short trip - we had four nights and three days to cram as much in as possible while still enjoying ourselves without kids (our first in a looooooong time!).

We spent most of our time in the capital city of Reykjavík, walking as much as possible, where I rediscovered my love of street/architecture photography. We also drove along the South coast (stopping along the way at some pretty dope waterfalls!) to explore the Jökulsárlón Glacier and to do an ice cave hike. There are so many things I didn't photograph because I wanted to be in the moment. I have to thank my friend Libby for sharing her amazing itinerary with me!!

To say that Ryan and I both love to travel is an understatement. Put it this way: if we didn't have kids, we'd probably sell our house and become nomads, seeing as many things as we could possibly see. Hey, maybe when we retire. ;)
