BRANDING + BRIDALS PREVIEW!

First up -- some exciting news! "Melissa Williamson Photography" is in the process of getting a makeover! As many of you already know, I got married over the summer, so now I'm officially "Melissa Tuck Photography." : ) I'm SUPER pumped about the things my designer has created for my new brand, so please be on the lookout for updates about my new look! Also, I'll be migrating things over to my new domain - www.melissatuckphoto.com - this week, and as you can tell, I've already switched over to www.melissatuckblog.com! So, thanks in advance for your patience as I work out the kinks. AND not to worry - the old web addresses will redirect automatically to the new addresses for awhile until I get the word out!

WE GOT MARRIED! (+ A NOTE ON INVESTMENT)

Last weekend, I married the man of my dreams. It was hands down the happiest day of my life thus far. I didn't want it to end! We won't be honeymoonin' until the end of July, so that means back to work for Ryan and me (for now). I wanted to take this opportunity to blog quickly about hiring a great wedding photographer. Time and time again, I stress to potential bride & grooms about how invaluable it is to invest in a great photographer: "I know it may seem like a lot of money now, but think about the return investment... Are you willing to pay a little more to have amazing photos that you'll cherish forever or pay half as much and regret your decision in the long run?" Now, the weight of what I emphasize on a weekly basis only actually hit me the day after my wedding. I woke up and I said, "Why does it have to be over?!" Even yesterday in an email, my hubs said, "I appreciate more than ever now how important having amazing photos of the day is ... I never want to lose these memories." Amen to that. And that's why we invested in FABULOUS wedding photographers (The Schultzes) AND videographers (Nathan Clendenin & Stephen Garrett of Cana Collective). I'm excited to see what they captured so Ryan and I can relive the day over and over again! For now, here are a few snaps that my wonderful maid of honor took with her iPhone. : ) (That's my daddio in the bottom left corner!)

WPPI

This is probably the only post you'll ever see from me without a photo, but I just wanted to announce that I'll be in Las Vegas this week for the mac daddy of all wedding photography conventions: WPPI. I'm so excited about the speakers this year and can't wait to see all the great products that will be offered at the trade show. See you in Vegas! : )
