JESSICA + BRENT - Atlanta History Center Wedding

Jessica and Brent got married in mid-August at the beautiful Atlanta History Center! This was my first time at this venue, and it was such a treat shooting there! I especially loved the Swan House, where we snuck away to take a few portraits after the ceremony. Atlanta-Georgia-wedding-photographer_0001

Jessica & Brent's wedding was so elegant and patriotic. : ) Brent is in the Army, and I thought it was such a special way to honor his ongoing service. One of my favorite parts of their day was the first look -- Brent's face was absolutely PRICELESS. You'll see. : )

I have to give a big shout out to Kate & Barb of Kate and Campbell Weddings; they did such a fabulous job running the show! You can check out their blog post about the day here. And I have to echo their sentiments -- the MOB & FOB were so on top of things and just wanted a flawless wedding for Jessica (and I think it was most certainly achieved!).

Quick explanation for this photo: Brent had pretty extensive back surgery (!!!) prior to the wedding, so he had to take some breaks throughout the day. I love this image by Kelley.

What did I say? PRICELESS. I love it. Enthusiasm for his bride! Take note, grooms! ; )

KALA + GEORGE - Naylor Hall Wedding

Kala and George were married on a HOT day in early August at historic Naylor Hall in Roswell, Georgia. You certainly can't tell from this photo that they were sweating their tushies off. ; ) So lovely.

Shooting Kala & George's wedding was a delightful experience. They were so gracious and just so NICE throughout the day. I loved that the wedding party liked to do the "laughing" photos; and they were so good at it, especially the guys. Best expressions ever! One of my absolute favorite moments of the day was the cake cutting -- I'm talkin' full extension, palm of cake to the face -- it was hilarious! I love it when couples surprise me like this. : )

Kala & George, thanks a million for being amazingly kind people. I hope for gobs of happiness in your lives together!

Kala's mama and George's mama share a moment. : )

I love when couples opt for the first look -- I had plenty of time that day to do portraits. Plenty of time = happy photographer. : )

What did I tell you?! So fun.

Adore this shot of Kala and her grandpa.

Beautiful lady!

HOORAY!

How awesome is the groom's cake?!

Roomie pic! Hysterical. I'm happy to have met Claire of Claire Diana Photography at this wedding -- she's so sweet!

YES. YESYESYES.

This couple danced all night together. They are SUPER adorable.

THE COX FAMILY

Photographing young families is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do. I met Addie Kate and her mama through photographing kiddos at the Rabbit's Nest of Rome last spring. I adored this little one's smile, and to my delight, she showed up full of 'em on the morning of our shoot! Witnessing the love in this sweet family made my heart grow a couple of sizes that day. Thank you, Cox family, for sharing your sweet one with me! Check out this adorable family, y'all, and Addie Kate's perfect little chunky legs and precious outfits! : )

LOVE this one so much! It really shows her sweet personality.

Look at those teeny-tiny espadrilles! LOVE!

Cute little ruffles on the tush!

SUSIE + SEAN - Geneva National Resort Wedding

If you like baller sunglasses, Dr. Seuss quotes and lots of sunshine, this wedding is for you. I absolutely LOVED this day. Susie and Sean are incredibly sweet, FUN people.

In mid-July, I traveled up to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to photograph Susie & Sean's wedding. Yes, Wisconsin! You see, I met Susie when I studied abroad in Australia back in my college days, and I was PUMPED (!!!!!) when I heard from her a little over a year ago about shooting her and Sean's wedding. (Side note: I've had the privilege of shooting FIVE study abroad girls' weddings. A post commemorating that later...!) Susie & Sean got married at the beautiful Geneva National Resort on a breathtaking day.

Bride's dress: David's Bridal Bride's shoes: RSVP Bridesmaids' dresses: J.Crew Groom's attire: Banana Republic Groomsmen attire: various Makeup: Sarah Chico Hair: Nahraine Stone Florals: Treasure Hut Cake: Gooseberries DJ: A Personal Touch DJ Programs: DIY Rings: Oak Park Jewelers

As it always seems to be (lucky me!), I hit the jackpot with some awesome families. I already knew ahead of the day that Susie & Sean were gracious, kind people, but their families welcomed me with open arms as well and were SO kind throughout the day. Also, a funny side note: during Susie & Sean's portraits, we dodged golfers (still in their rounds) and LOTS of goose droppings. It was pretty hilarious, if you ask me. Always an adventure!

Sus and Sean, thank you so much for introducing me to Wisconsin! If it's anything like your wedding, I believe I'll be traveling back there again someday. : )

How sweet is Susie's nephew?!

And I love this one of Susie's niece watching her mama put on lipstick.

I love how we got Susie's niece to smile for a portrait by holding a stick. #alwaysthinking (yes, I just used a hashtag in a blog post... #addicted)

Handsome groom, beautiful bride... check!

YES.

Tea + lemonade = favorite!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Another favorite!

Maybe the best face ever during a cake cutting. : )

KERRI + MATT - Jupiter, Florida Wedding - Part II of II

Kerri & Matt... just LOOK at how gorgeous they are! LOVE this photo of them as husband and wife. : )

Kerri & Matt got married at a beautiful church in Hobe Sound - St. Christopher Catholic Church. The priest who married Kerri's parents also married Kerri & Matt. How special is that? On the way back from the church, we detoured to stop at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse for some quick portraits. The reception was held at The Loxahatchee Club, which provided a beautiful backdrop for the (amazing!) party.

Bride's dress: Jim Hjelm Bride's shoes: Stephen Bonanno Bridesmaids' dresses: Alfred Sung Groom and groomsmen attire: Vera Wang for Men's Wearhouse Makeup and hair: Team Beauti Florals: Allen Roberts Floral Designs Cake: Sweet Tiers Band: Pangea

The day was full of emotion and charm. My favorite parts were probably seeing Matt tear up while Kerri walked down the aisle with her dad, as well as watching Kerri and Matt during their vows. And I captured more than a few laughing fits between Matt and his mom (they both have awesome smiles!), which tug at my heartstrings. I also loved the unique elements that were incorporated into Kerri's attire: her purse was made from her mom and grandmother's wedding dresses, and Kerri wore a gardenia, her late grandmother's favorite flower, in her hair during the reception to honor her.

Both families were just so friendly and FUN. I enjoyed every minute of this day! Please enjoy my favorites. : ) (And if you missed part I, you can find it HERE.)

How cute are the out-of-town baskets? A mini palm tree!!

So handsome! Loved the white tux coats.

Kerri's mom and dad... so proud.

GORGEOUS!

These kids are SO precious.

LOVE this one.

MARRIED!

GOOMBAY SMASH! The couple first met in the Bahamas, so they had signature drinks from their favorite island at the reception.

The toasts had everyone laughing!

Kerri was less than thrilled about taking cake to the face, but she was good natured about it. ; )

Love me some twins!

I'm not sure where this tradition started, but I like it.

Shout out to a past MTP bride & groom - hey heyyyyy! Looking good!
