Oliver: Newborn // Washington, DC Newborn Photographer

Oliver was a wise little dude of 8 days old when I shot his newborn photos. His lips and chin combined had me smiling so big! I loved his charming nursery; his grandfather MADE his crib and I adored the eclectic mix of D.C. details. Enjoy this sweet face and his proud parents!

MARGOT: NEWBORN

I got to meet and photograph this scrumptious little sweetheart at eight days old. Margot (LOVE her name!) was born early -- just THREE days after I took her parent's maternity photos! Crazy timing, I'm telling ya. She was perfectly sleepy during the session -- a dream to photograph. I am so incredibly happy for her awesome parents! Enjoy some of my favorites of this precious little lady. : ) Washington-DC-newborn-photographer-margot_0001Washington-DC-newborn-photographer-margot_0002Washington-DC-newborn-photographer-margot_0003Washington-DC-newborn-photographer-margot_0004

I am in LOVE with her little nose. And I have to give major props to Matt, Margot's dad, for helping me hold the blanket during these solo shots. Sometimes the space in city apartments can be tricky but with willing parents...!

Margot's grandmother (Kat's mom) was in town helping them out after her birth, so we grabbed some shots!

Matt's mom sent these sweaters all the way from Ireland. It'll take a bit for Margot to grow into her's, but I loved that they wanted to get some shots in them!

BROOKLYN: Photos by Anna Routh Photography

Even though I've uploaded overloaded my Instagram followers' feeds with photos of my daughter, Brooklyn still hasn't gotten much face time on the blog yet. With a pretty busy summer and fall season, I put off editing a LOT of personal photos until this winter. I have many moments from her life to share coming up on the blog. But first, I wanted to share a few favorites from our family session with Anna Routh Photography when Brooklyn was just three weeks old. Anna is a friend of mine and she is SUCH a lovely person. I've admired her beautiful work for awhile, and I was SO happy she could squeeze in a session for us when she was visiting DC. I encourage you to go see more of Anna's photos on her blog and her favorites from our session HERE. Thanks for a wonderful time, Anna. We'll cherish these photos forever. Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone has oodles of fun and is safe celebrating tonight! I am taking a few days away to relax with the familia. : ) I will be back at my computer the week of January 5th, and during that week, I plan to blog my last wedding of 2014 and post my 2014 business recap! See y'all in the new year.

I was so thrilled she grabbed some photos of our furry children!

Brooklyn's nursery is so special because it is filled with handmade things from friends.

My good friend Mary painted the canvas on the right, and I knitted the blanket on the glider.

I sewed the heart mobile during my third trimester, and I embroidered the alphabet even before we found out we were pregnant with Brooklyn. : )

The blue bowl was spun by Ryan's dad, the "You Are So Loved" piece was illustrated/painted by my good friend Becca and the embroidery was done by my good friend Danielle's mama. <3.

I included this photo of Bella because it was "her spot" during the first few months of Brooklyn's life. I had a bit of a hard time with breastfeeding and spent countless hours in the glider feeding Brooklyn, and Bella was always by my side.

We printed the below photo as a canvas. That hoodie...too much!!!

We actually requested Anna take these photos. We thought Brooklyn looked so funny when we burped her like this (how the pediatrician actually recommended we do it). That face!!!

THE GOEBEL FAMILY

I adored photographing this family at their home in Annapolis, Maryland. Little Miss Meyer was just shy of 15 weeks in these photos. She had the best expressions and the biggest, most beautiful eyes! I also loved her red hair and gorgeous nursery. Congrats to the proud and happy parents! : ) Maryland-family-photographer_0001Maryland-family-photographer_0002Maryland-family-photographer_0003Maryland-family-photographer_0004Maryland-family-photographer_0005

I wish I could say I caught this moment by accident but no....no, their pup STRETCHES ON CUE. How amazing is she?!

We walked down to the water for a couple of snaps outside -- it was a beautiful day.

BROOKLYN CHARLIE

"Sometimes the littlest things take up the most room in our hearts." -- Winnie the Pooh Today, our little girl is one month old. I'm still on maternity leave, but I wanted to take a second (literally that's all I have these days, as she sleeps on my chest in her carrier) to post her birth announcement. I took this photo of her when she was seven days old. There will be many more photos and words to share at a later date when we discover our rhythm! Until then, here's our little chunk babe. The hubs and I are SO proud and SO in love. : )
