MORGAN + DREW ENGAGED!

Give me a fun-loving, adorable couple and a double rainbow, and I'll give you some magic! I had SUCH a refreshing afternoon photographing Drew & Morgan and their sweet pup, Fischer, at Berry College. We had to dodge some rain showers, but it was nothing compared to witnessing the gorgeous rainbow it produced afterward. : ) Can't wait for their wedding in Athens next spring! This is when we got caught in some rain...! They were good sports. : )

PET ADOPTION

Adopting animals is something very near and dear to my heart. If I could, I would adopt 20 animals (per month!) just to save them from euthanasia (and I know many folks who would do the same). But, it's just not possible. And there are so many dogs and cats that need help. October is the American Humane Association's Adopt-a-Dog Month. I'm going to try and help out the Floyd County Animal Control by photographing adoptable pets as much as my schedule will allow me. Right now, a lot of kittens are in need. If you know of anyone who can adopt in the area, please send them to the Floyd County Animal Control's adoptapet.com site HERE. Or, be inspired and find an animal to adopt in your area.

Below are a few kittens that caught my eye; and there are many more on the site from which to choose. I have to admit... I'm not even a cat person, but don't they just scream "take me home"?

*Thanks to Anna Routh Photography for the idea to help out these animals. Please adopt if you can!

RACHEL + ANDY - Verandas Wedding

In mid-August, I flew out to sunny LA (Manhattan Beach, to be exact!) to photograph the wedding of Rachel & Andy. Love this couple!

To give a little back story: I met Rachel through studying abroad in Australia when I was an undergrad in college. We were part of a group that clicked really well, and even though we don't stay in touch as nearly as we should, when it came time to shoot her wedding (I was stoked!), everything fell back into place. Let me tell y'all something about Rachel: she's real. She'll give great advice, and she's not afraid to be herself around any one. I LOVE this about her. And I'm sure Andy does too. : )

Photographing this wedding was a blast! Rachel & Andy clearly put a lot of time & effort into it (Rachel SEWED awesome pillows for the reception space!), but it wasn't overdone. It was still beautiful and chill (matching the couple's laid back personalities) and all about having fun! I especially loved hearing all of the thoughtful toasts and witnessing all of the Jewish wedding traditions AND photographing all of the adorable kiddos!

The hubs and I seriously had a wonderful time out in California. The air just seems cleaner, and the weather was absolutely PERFECT the entire time we were there. Thank you, Andy & Rachel, for inviting me to document your day. It. was. AMAZING. And so are y'all!

First look!

Love.

The bridal party was so fun and had so much energy!

Rachel & Andy's dog, Ollie, came for a few snaps. LOVE HIM!

Father and son shoes. : )

Aunt feeding her nephew!

Signing of the ketubah.

I DIED over the florals. So pretty.

Favorite!

Andy was really excited about the breaking of the glass. He got some air!

Love how this photo shows off Rachel's GORGEOUS hair.

Another fave!

I loved how they personalized some of the cocktails.

Most amazing first dance shot ever? Yes, I think so...

Andy's face in the left-hand photo: hysterical.

Call Me Maybe?

BELLA IS FOUR!

It's hard to believe it's her fourth birthday. Seems like yesterday that the hubs surprised me with Bella in our New York apartment (see puppy pics HERE). Bella has gotten more stubborn (selective hearing for treats!), but she's also come to LOVE her sister (who she wasn't so sure about at the start). I love my pups. They bring me so much joy and give me so much love. Happy birthday, sweet Belle! (Please excuse the awful quality in most of the Droid cell phone pics.)

I didn't do a post for lil Sadie girl when she turned two last June (horrible! is this what non-first-born children feel like?!), so I included a funny one of her as well. Sadie can flyyyyy! : )
